ORGANISATION
Music
in the Vale originated in 1985 in the format of free concerts to allow
locals to display their various talents. In 1992 the Vale Council
approached the Committee with a request to organise an annual musical
competition for the youth of the Vale which was to embrace both singers
and instrumentalists. It has evolved to its present format as a
competition of significant standing over the years since then.
Music
in the Vale is a Charitable Organisation.
Music
in the Vale is run by a friendly volunteer committee who give freely of
their time and expertise. Over the year the members meet to
review and evaluate the annual competition and other performance
opportunities, discuss ideas for fundraising and sponsorship and to
recruit new members.
On
the competition weekend itself, additional helpers are needed to join
with the committee members to assist in the smooth running of the
auditions, supervision of warm ups, run-throughs with the accompanist
and of course keep the tea urn on the boil.
If
you would like to join us as a volunteer please contact
us.
